Los Potrillos Taqueria

I've been coming to this place for years. I've always thought the food was decent and the prices were too bad. Sometimes the service was a little slow but overall they've been good to me. I haven't been here for a couple month and decided to get the shrimp ceviche again today. It was good but not as good as before. It seemed like it was missing something, like a spice or something. It tasted a little bland this time. I noticed that there was a different cook in the back. He's not as good as the old cook. Don't get me wrong. It was good, just not as good as I've had in the past. I also noticed that they changed their menu and prices. But like everything, the prices were going to go up. I'd say stuff went up an extra $2, but I think they're still cheaper than other Mexican restaurants. Their prices were cheap before. It was like a hidden gem. I'm curious to see how much their bean and cheese burritos went up. Bean and cheese burritos are my usual. Service was great that day. I'm sort of a regular there and they recognize me when I stop in. I'll still continue to come here. They have a special place in my heart.

Service was good and as a bay area native the carnitas tacos were on point. Will be returning with the family.

The food here is the beat Mexican food I have had in NV. Even though there was a language barrier, the communication was flawless. The service gal was so very sweet so was the gentleman. Everyone was so very nice. I will definitely return. I've bragged about this restaurant to plenty of people because I feel like small businesses deserve what they deserve. Best quality patron.

As any restaurant has its greats, goods and just okays. Fish tacos a must try. Asada is very good with very flavorful. Room has a hole in the wall kinda feel. I like that makes it feel like home cooking. Service is normally pretty good. Need some work on Togo orders, and that is normally how I order. Prices are on the high side of fair but you will leave full. Portion sizes are large. Great lunch spot

I happened to be by the neighborhood and saw this restaurant sandwiched between other business centers. I ordered 3 tacos de lengua (cow tongue) and 3 tacos de cabeza (cow head) and they were delicious. I wasn't able to take a picture of the tacos right when they came out, but I took the aftermath. These are some of the best tacos I've had here in Reno. The cabeza tacos were so juicy and tender. I will definitely be here again. The service was also awesome and hospitable.

Very impressive, great flavors, price average. Will be back again. Great service, friendly staff. Will have to try their breakfast menu in the future.

Stopped into Los Potrillos a couple weeks ago for a breakfast burrito after realizing Full Belly Deli next door was closed on Sunday........ So the burritos were very tasty- bacon, egg, cheese and potatoes, very good size that only a big appetite could finish, shareable for smaller appetites for sure. Nice long bar to sit at, we sat and snacked on chips and salsa while we waited for our food , chips were yummy- they sprinkle some magic seasoning on them that make them extra delicious. Salsa was good but not traditional red salsa with cilantro and onion that I prefer, I think it was like a tomatillo salsa that was pretty mild. The waitstaff were very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was very pleasant, I would definitely stop in again and try some of my traditional favorites like Carnitas etc. Definitely worth a try!!

Attended another Mexican taqueria down the road for a YELP event and it was pure chaos so we stopped in here. What a find! From the start the male elder host was cute and helped me w/our Spanish. The server was adorable with a permanent smile! Food: molcajete was delicious and one of the best I've had in Reno. Service: splendid Decor: clean, organized, cheerful We will be back! The molcajete was enough for 3 and delicious with a great sauce.

Wow, we have not gone to this place yet and saw a few poor reviews. Not sure why because this Mexican restaurant ROCKS!!! Now I am not an expert with food but every dish we had tasted wonderfully and the service was fast and friendly. Loved that the area we were sitting in turns into a disco/dance area. Guess we weren't at the right time. Super affordable food, great quantity in terms of size of plate and so happy we stopped in. Happy to visit again! I would highly recommend.
